FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
New Visual Art Exhibition from Rock Icon Brandon Boyd
Comes to Taglialatella Galleries in New York
NEW YORK – September 10, 2024 – Taglialatella Galleries is proud to present Brandon Boyd, an exhibition of original paintings and work on paper on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Brandon Boyd, known as the lead-singer and frontman of Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum rock band, Incubus, is quickly becoming as known for his visual works as he is for his record-breaking songs. Boyd, a native of Los Angeles, has had exhibitions of his works shown in hot art markets like Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, London, Paris and many more.
The Brandon Boyd exhibition delves into Boyd's ongoing fascination with the essence of lines—these "miniature highways" that convey complex meanings. The collection is marked by dynamic explosions of line work that intertwine with underlying layers of depth and meaning. Each artwork invites viewers to uncover hidden significance and resonates with a lyrical quality. Boyd notes, “Reliability, comfort, and predictability rarely foster beauty. It’s the unexpected, the surprises, and the complexities that make narratives compelling and worth our attention.”
“The music is intellectual, untouchable, and fascinating. The art is intuitive, more like just breathing. It’s just a part of me.”
– Brandon Boyd
Boyd has become the next rising celebrity visual artist, amongst other notables such as Sir Paul McCartney (The Beatles), Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr (The Beatles), Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship) and many, many more.
Brandon Boyd is the author of three books combining his artwork, photography, and creative writing, and continues to display his work in solo and group exhibitions around the world. Incubus is celebrating the combined sales of more than 23 million albums and over 1 billion streams.
The opening night of the exhibition will also include a limited-capacity Q&A session with Brandon, moderated by JD Miller of Samuel Lynne Galleries at 5pm, which will be live streamed on YouTube (channel TBA). Attendees of the Q&A will be limited to VIP of the gallery and collectors who purchase an exclusive new signed and numbered print, available prior to the exhibition. The opening reception of the exhibition is strictly RSVP-only, as well as for gallery clients that have purchased a piece of the collection. RSVP guests who did not have the opportunity to purchase a piece will be able to view the Q&A session from the foyer of the gallery.
