For Immediate Release: Taglialatella Galleries and Arts for a Better World present “100 Warhols, an Overview: Painting, Drawing, Collage, Unique Work on Paper, Trial Proofs and Edition Prints” during Art Basel Miami Beach Week at the Overture Miami Art Fair, December 4-9, 2012.
New York, NY: Taglialatella Galleries in association with the Overture Miami Art Fair are pleased to announce the presentation of a major survey of Andy Warhol’s career, “100 Warhols, an Overview: Painting, Drawing, Collage, Unique Work on Paper, Trial Proofs and Edition Prints”. Unprecedented in the history of art fairs, this historic exhibition is the centerpiece of the Overture Miami Art Fair which debuts during Art Basel Miami Beach Week, December 4-9, 2012, with a VIP Opening Preview on the evening of Tuesday, December 4, 2012.
This vast presentation celebrates Andy Warhol’s entire working career and includes work in a variety of media from the artist’s early years to his final paintings, including iconic works and a great many works never before exhibited to the public. Presented around six distinct themes; Flowers, Animals, Politics, Icons, Early Years and Late Years, the exhibition is designed to be an accessible and educational survey of the most important artist of the last half of the twentieth century. Virtually all works presented are available for purchase, with only a few exceptions.
Exhibition highlights are many and traverse a great spectrum of time and sensibility. Highlights include the rarely exhibited Flash November 22, 1963 portfolio in its entirety, which Warhol created in 1968 in response to the national trauma of the Kennedy assassination and to the then unprecedented international media coverage of the event. Featured in the Late Years are eight to twelve of Warhol’s last paintings. Additional features include a rare, large scale portrait of 1980s icon Debbie Harry and a very intimate painting of Warhol’s beloved Dachshund, Archie.
Taglialatella Galleries of New York, Palm Beach and Paris specialize in the work of Andy Warhol and the American Pop Art Movement, as well as later generations of 80s and contemporary artists inspired by American Pop.
