Taglialatella Galleries in New York is hosting “GAME ON! The Art of Invader”, on view from
May 11, 2017.
The exhibition is an overview of limited edition prints and original works created over a decade by French urban artist Invader (b.1969). Invader, AKA Space Invader, travels through the streets of various cities, creating street arts with mosaic images inspired by video games, movies, cartoons & comics, and other icons of pop culture. Self-described as “UFA”, or Unidentified Free Artist,
he always appears behind mask, being anonymous in the crowd of visitors, sometimes
at his own exhibitions.
He has spent the last decade on his “Space Invader” project, creating what has become a
world-wide presence of public graffiti, in the line of contemporaries like Banksy, Shepard Fairey,
and other leading members of the street art world. Along his street arts, the artist has also released select limited edition prints on paper, and duplicates of every original mosaic.
The exhibition will feature the majority of the artist’s published prints, as well as original works from his studio, videos of his missions, and examples of his works from the street as a reference to his graffiti.
The exhibition will be on view at Taglialatella Galleries' New York City location, 229 10th Avenue, New York, NY 10011, USA.
