"Peace Makers" inspired by the increased call for social justice and activism across America and around the world, Robierb worked tirelessly through 2020 and into 2021 on Peace Makers in attempt to create a modern monument that would visually embody and symbolize the ubiquitous hope for equality.
“Art reflects our times, and my art reflects the desire and hope of our society for peace and justice.” ~ Rubem Robierb
In order to bring Peace Makers to the public forefront, Robierb will display his 10-foot painted fiberglass and stainless-steel sculpture on New York City’s Randall’s Island Park, set to be unveiled on May 4th, 2021. The sculpture will be on public view for an entire year – until May 2022 – at the base of the Park’s 103rd Street Footbridge. Peace Makers will be exhibited along with Robierb’s Dream Machine II as part of NYC Parks’ Art in the Parks program in partnership with the Randall’s Island Park Alliance and Taglialatella Galleries NY.
